Training

 

Training is held every Thursday evening at Horncastle Astroturf and the senior sessions run from 7pm to 9pm.

 

Training sessions usually follow the structure outlined below. 

  • Warm up
  • Fitness (some general, some stick and ball work involved)
  • Working on the Basics (passing, positioning, communication, defence, shooting etc.)
  • Further development (taking a closer look at an aspect of the game through various  progressive drills)
  • The session will end with either a large game or a series of small games followed by a warm down.

 

The training sessions aim to begin by improving core skills, becoming more technical as they progress. The matches at the end of the session are an ideal opportunity to put the things practiced during a session into use as well as providing a chance to develop a better understanding of the rules of the game.
