Horncastle 1s travelled to St Ives hoping to break their losing streak and avoid catching coronavirus. Unfortunately in the first 10 minutes a St Ives player backsticked his way through Horncastle's defence and found the back of the net. Two more goals in quick succession from St Ives left Horncastle with a mountain to climb. A tweak in formation stopped the rot and a goal from a short corner by Bennett meant Horncastle finished the half 1-4 down. In the second half, the more defensive formation limited St Ives' opportunities. Another short corner from Bennet and a spectacular reverse volley from Garcia Baker put Horncastle truly within touching distance. But an equally impressive own-goal from Lound left the score at 3-5 until Scott's measured chip over the goalkeeper once more renewed Horncastle's hopes. Sadly these were dashed when St Ives scored from a questionably awarded a short corner for a tackle which really sounded worse than it was. Despite the much improved second-half performance, this left the final score at 4-6 and Horncastle likely needing at least 2 wins from their remaining 5 games to guarantee survival.
